Dear Friends,
As we approach the end of the year the main thought in my heart and mind is that of gratitude.
Gratitude for the great kindness and generosity of our members and friends who have participated in our activities and who have offered their kind support over the past twelve months. We have had a difficult year with many friends experiencing trials and sufferings, losses and disappointments.
However people have maintained their efforts at walking the path of the Buddha with great good grace and kindness. It has been inspiring to see how people have rallied around and supported each other throughout the year.
I am reminded of the poem by T S Eliot, “Journey of the Magi” in which he writes, “….A hard time we had of it….with the voices singing in our ears, saying this was all folly” …..and so we continued And arrived at evening, not a moment too soon…..”
Despite all the sad and terrible things we have experienced during this year and the truly dreadful horrendous attack on our Jewish Brothers and Sisters at Bondi whilst they celebrated Hanukkha, the Festival of Light, we keep on making an effort to realise the teachings for our own and others well- being and happiness.
We keep moving forward toward the complete liberation of heart and mind, the ending of dukkha and the arising of Nibbana.
I wish all of you great peace at this time of year.
May the New Year ahead bring you peace of heart and mind and great contentment no matter what arises.
With great gratitude and every blessing
Bhante Tejadhammo
