The relationship between the group of Fives and their importance in the spiritual life walking the path of the Buddha

Bhante Tejadhammo is unable to give tonight’s Dhamma Talk as his health condition has worsened. Bhante has been serving the community diligently despite his condition, but unfortunately his health has taken a bad turn.

Tonight we will be meeting to chat the Metta Sutta and meditate together, sending metta and blessings to Bhante, wishing him a speedy recovery.

You are invited to join us for chanting and meditation at the normal time.

Simplicity of Meditation Workshop

Meditation practice can be incredibly simple. At the core, meditation is awareness. By pausing and connecting with awareness we can find that tranquility and clarity are close at hand.

In this half-day workshop, we will explore mindfulness of breathing practice and effortless awareness. There will be instructions, guided meditations, and time for questions and discussion. This workshop offers an opportunity to learn about meditation together, spend a morning cultivating peacefulness and spaciousness, and to come together as a community to share and practise with support.

Facing difficult ethical choices: considering Voluntary Euthanasia

Topic: Facing difficult ethical choices: considering Voluntary Euthanasia

Date: Thursday 25 November 2021

Presenter: Thay Thich Truc Thong Phap

Description: This is not an easy and comfortable topic to explore however we will because life isn’t comfortable (first Noble Truth) and we must face these things and come to our own conclusions. There are numerous ethical issues that we must face in life. They are not comfortable but face them we must.

Thay Thong Phap said he has his own view on these topics which is in line with received Buddhist teaching but there are compelling arguments for voluntary euthanasia. Thay agreed that we will do our best to explore and look in-depth into this very difficult topic.
