Topic: Similes of the Buddha: Visualising the Dhamma

Date: Thursday 9 December 2021

Presenter: Bhante Akāliko

Description: The Buddha employed a rich repertoire of similes in his teaching to convey complex concepts in simple, everyday terms that everyone could understand and remember easily.

Join Bhante Akāliko for this visual Dhamma presentation and explore the inspiring imagery of the suttas, with similes that are profound, meaningful and still relatable even today. Discover how we can utilise these images in our meditation and daily life to help us improve our understanding of the Dhamma.

Bhante Akāliko is a long term student of Bhante Sujato. He took ordination with Ajahn Brahm in Bodhinyana Monastery, Perth. He is the founder of Rainbodhi LGBTQIA+ Buddhist Community. He is a Buddhist chaplain at Western Sydney University and on the Board of Directors of the Buddhist Council of NSW.
