End of Year Message from Venerable Tejadhammo

Dear Friends,
After many and varied attempts to hold the Association and its friends together as we come to the last days of 2024 it is with great joy that we are able to announce the return of regular Dhamma teaching and our Dana Days commencing in 2025. The past few years have been very difficult for everyone not simply financially as we are constantly reminded by the media but especially in terms of holding regular Dhamma meetings and gatherings of like minded friends.

The Buddha places good friendship and companionship along with the cultivation of Dana (opening ones heart and mind to others) as the supreme foundations of the Dhamma and liberation from Dukkha. My sincere wish is that you and all our friends will be able to once again come together to share and explore the Dhamma of the Buddha with great Metta and generosity. The new venue is so close to the old Sangha Lodge and is easily accessible to all via public transport. There are no stairs and plenty of sheltered outdoor seating. There is even a café for those who might need a hit of caffeine after a tiring or boring dhamma talk!

Your committee has worked hard to make this new venue possible and I hope you will be able to join us there next year. The New Year ahead is the year of the snake. In the Buddhist tradition this is a very auspicious animal. Recall Mucalinda the great serpent who protected and guarded the Buddha, and the Nagas who bring life giving rains among many other appearances of snakes in the life of the Buddha and Buddhism. Vejjasala has been restored and is a very beautiful retreat centre for your use and now we can couple this with our new Sydney city venue. I wish all of you every blessing for Christmas and The New Year. May you be well and happy now and always.
Looking forward to catching up again soon.
With great gratitude and metta
Yours,
Bhante Tejadhammo
