DESCRIPTION:Please join us to celebrate the official re-opening of the Association of Engaged Buddhists’ retreat centre Vejjasala\, and Mini Food Fair. \n\n\n\nRegister via Eventbrite. \n\n\n\nAfter extensive renovation work over the past few years\, the Association of Engaged Buddhists is proud to welcome you to attend the on-site official re-opening of Vejjasala (place of healing). \n\n\n\nSchedule:\n\n\n\n9.30am: Gates open10.30am: Opening ceremony11.00am: Food stalls open3pm: Finish\n\n\n\nThere is no charge to attend (if you are bringing your own lunch)\, but we’d appreciate it if you could still book uisng the “Attendance Only” ticket so we have an idea of numbers. \n\n\n\nAs well as the re-opening ceremony\, we will have a ‘mini’ food fair with a selection of stalls. Again\, we would request that if you book food tickets in advance so that we can cater accordingly. \n\n\n\nStandard Lunch Ticket price of $30 includes:\n\n\n\n2 x $12 vouchers can be used for Char Kway Teow\, Fried Rice Cake (Char kway Kak) or Nasi Lemak1 x $6 voucher which can be used for Ice Kachang or Kuih (desserts)\n\n\n\nTake-away portions may be available for purchase on the day (card-only) should supplies allow. Pre-purchase tickets close Sun 27th Nov in order for us to cater appropriately. \n\n\n\nA small number of tickets will be available for purchase (card-only) on the day\, but pre-purchase is greatly preferred. \n\n\n\nTransport Ticket price of $50 includes lunch (per above) and mini-bus transport to and from Vejjasala\n\n\n\nPick-up from Strathfield Station (South-side Roundabout) at 7.45amReturn to Strathfield Station at approx. 5pmTransport Ticket bookings close 4 weeks prior to the event to allow us to book appropriate transportation\n\n\n\nIf you are able to offer a lift to other attendees\, or would like a lift yourself\, please let us know when booking tickets. We will endeavour to match people from the same area\, but cannot guarantee a lift will be available. \n\n\n\nPlease bring your own picnic blanket\, chairs and drinks with you. Mark your calendar!!!! \n\n\n\n~ Dana is a word in the Pali language meaning giving\, offering\, generosity and liberality. Giving\, or “dana”\, through generosity is a human virtue that is encouraged in most religions of the world. In Buddhism\, giving can be described as the basic foundation of Buddhist practice and is of both great importance and significance in the spiritual development of its followers.~ \n\n\n\nThis Dana Day is jointly organised by AEB & Buddhist Library in conjunction with Thay Thong Phap’s visit to Sydney. This is a rare occasion where we can all come together\, have a chance to listen to talk\, have a dialogue with the monk\, practice meditation together\, offering food to the Sangha and have lunch together with the Community. \n\n\n\nIf you like\, you may bring a plate of food to offer to the Sangha and to share with the Community. \n\n\n\nVenerable Thich Truc Thong Phap will be very happy to meeting you
