Sue Toohey: Letting Go and Not Picking Things Up (Zoom)
16 February 2023 @ 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm
Description
The Buddha taught 10 Perfections – 10 good qualities that we can develop which lead us on the path to enlightenment – otherwise known as complete freedom of heart and mind. The third of these 10 perfections is ‘nekhamma’ which might be translated as letting go and not picking things up. Nekhamma is the counterforce to all of the ‘wanting’ energy in our everyday lives. Whenever we find ourselves wanting something – whether it’s a new pair of shoes or a more understanding and appreciative partner, we can apply the energy of nekhamma and see what happens. Let’s talk about the ways in which we can de-clutter our lives, simplify our interactions with others and clear our minds, while bringing ourselves a little closer to that great freedom of heart and mind.
